About the photographer
This is Erika
For me it is important to be outdoors in nature. The fact that I love and understand nature is visible in my images. I know how the light falls and reflects. You can feel safe knowing that I guide you in where and how to stand so the light falls beautifully on you and you become the focus of the image.
Through specialized training in maternity photography and more than 10 years of experience, I have gained the knowledge and expertise to give you a personal, positive, and unique experience. With me as your maternity photographer, you can feel completely at ease.
Behind the camera, I’m a warm, cheerful, and attentive photographer who helps you relax naturally. During the session, I create a calm and safe atmosphere where it’s easy to be yourself. I’ll guide you every step of the way and make sure you feel comfortable throughout, so you can focus on enjoying the moment instead of thinking about the camera.

How does it work?
I am based in the areas of Sibbo, Porvoo, Järvenpää, Mäntsälä and the Helsinki region. Here I also have a few favorite locations that I know work well all year round. I enjoy exploring new places and am more than happy to photograph elsewhere as well. When you get in touch, we can discuss a beautiful and suitable location just for you.
I usually photograph expectant mothers between weeks 27 and 35, but it depends very much on how your belly grows and how you are feeling. However I do recommended to get in touch and book already at the beginning of your pregnancy to guarantee available dates.
After we have booked a date, I will send a booking fee for 50% of the package price. Once the fee is paid, your date is reserved. There is no additional cost for rescheduling. You will receive an information email with details about the session, and we will schedule a possible meeting where you can come and try on maternity dresses.
After booking, I will send you a link to my maternity wardrobe where you can look through the available outfits and choose your looks. Through the link you can also mark your favorites for the session. If you prefer to come to me to see and try the dresses in person, that is also possible. We will schedule a suitable time before the session and go through the options together.
If you would like a crown of real flowers or a beautiful bouquet, we can plan together well in advance what would suit you best, and I will order it from my local florist.
We will meet at the location we have decided on beforehand, often directly at the photography location, and then begin the session.
You do not need to worry about posing in any strange way. It should be a calm moment where you can move naturally and feel the joy of being pregnant. Whether you feel comfortable in your pregnant body or not, you will feel strong and beautiful during the session. We will create images that you will love.
No later than two weeks after your session, you will receive a link to an online gallery with your fully edited images. From the gallery, you can choose your favorite photos.

I have a large selection of maternity clothing that you can choose from for your session. Skirts and dresses in different colors, shapes and materials. Both knitted cotton tops and lace tops. You can also choose from many cozy wool sweaters. There is something for all sizes and styles.
Beautiful locations and magical light
The location and the light are incredibly important for creating the right feeling in an image. I have several favorite locations where I know the light and surroundings work well for portrait photography. The locations are also easily accessible and suitable for different seasons.
Focus on your feeling
The feeling you have shows in the photos. Whether you are used to being in front of the camera or not, I help you relax. The time you spend in front of the camera should be calm and joyful. That is my goal.
Handmade clothing for your maternity photoshoot
I offer a collection of truly unique handmade maternity outfits in my client wardrobe. Choose from knitted cotton tops, delicate lace tops, and cozy wool sweaters, and pair them with skirts or dresses to create a look that feels like you.
Knitting is one of my greatest passions, and handmade craftsmanship has a special place in my heart. I knitted all of the knitted pieces in my client wardrobe myself, and most of them are made from my own original patterns.
Unique crafts
Every piece in the client wardrobe has been carefully selected for its quality and craftsmanship. Many garments are handmade in Finland using carefully sourced second hand fabrics, while others are sewn in Europe from beautiful surplus fabrics.
You can also borrow unique handmade headpieces to complete your look. Choose from large dried flower crowns, smaller paper flower crowns, an elegant forehead accessory, or one of two stunning crowns if you’re looking for something truly special.
Frequently asked questions
Of course. Partners, future siblings or pets are all welcome to join the session.
Please make sure that your partner and children wear suitable clothing, preferably neutral tones that match yours. If children joins the session, I recommend photographing with them either at the beginning or at the end of the session. If possible, it is also helpful to have someone along who can take care of the children while you are being photographed, so you do not need to worry about them.

Many of the people I photograph are not used to being in front of the camera. I talk to you throughout the entire session and gently guide you so you can feel as comfortable as possible. I show you how to stand, where to look and how to place your hands on your belly. It is most beautiful when it feels natural, so if you feel like doing something spontaneously, you should follow that. If you are photographed with your partner, you can be yourselves and hold each other in ways that feel natural to you.
I talk to you during the whole session. You can feel completely at ease knowing that I will let you know if, for example, your hair has been blown into the wrong place by the wind.

Since natural light is essential to how the images will look, I recommend that we reschedule if it is raining or if there are strong winds. There is no additional cost for rescheduling, and I am very flexible when it comes to finding a new date. We will be in touch the day before to check the weather forecast.

When should I book my maternity photoshoot?
Book your session early in your pregnancy to make sure you get a time. I usually recommend scheduling the photoshoot about two months before your due date, but it depends on how your belly grows and how you feel. If you need to reschedule, we will simply find a new date. The session should be a relaxed moment where you can feel the love for your baby and connect with your inner strength.
